My Mother Wants Me to Move to Florida

My mother keeps sending me listings of Lakeland FL houses for sale because she wants me to move where it is warm. I have worked and lived in the antarctic for the last decade, and now she is trying to convince me that it is time to thaw my bones. I love working in the cold, and I simply cannot stand being too hot. I keep reminding my mother of this simple fact, but she is having a case of selective hearing. I love her and believe her intentions are sweet, but that is not going to convince me to move somewhere like Florida. How she can live down there is beyond me. The mosquitoes are the size of small cars, and the humidity is never ending. Plus there is no way that I am comfortable living in the middle of a place where everything I own will get washed away a few times a year by a hurricane. I know that natural disasters can happen anywhere, but Florida is different to me. Living in Florida makes it to where there is no longer a question of if the hurricane will hit you, but much more simply a question of when. The last three years my mother has lost almost everything she ever owned and cherished aside from her own life, and I do not want to live that way.

Buying a New Home And Inspecting It Well

Buying a new home can be a very exciting adventure. It is potentially the most valuable asset that you will acquire in your lifetime; and if you are fortunate enough to become a homeowner, it should be enjoyed and celebrated. You have probably heard many stories over the years of home-buying experiencesboth pleasant and unpleasant. Thankfully, there are some steps that you can take along the way to guide you towards a pleasant experience.

You first need to find an experienced Arlington VA real estate agent. Without an agent, you’ll have a hard time making the deal work. Only 7% of homes bought or sold are done without the use of an agent, and these people are usually experienced in the real estate field. If you have no experience buying or selling, make sure you get an agent first.

Because of the high value of a home, buying a new home is not something to enter into lightly. Buying a new home successfully involves many angles, processes, and scenarios. Educating yourself and acquiring the assistance of a real estate agent both make incredibly good sense. Unless you are a professional Realtor yourself, you are only an amateur in the real estate world, right?

So, let us embrace professional real estate agents and their skills and abilities with respect, also. Otherwise, we may find ourselves overwhelmed by the following matters when buying a new home.

Make sure you choose the best Arlington VA Neighborhoods that will ensure your homes value increases. If there are foreclosures in the area, you may not want to go for that home.

Gather the reputation of builders and choose only those who are well-respected. If you’re wanting to research Arlington VA condos, make sure you know they are built well first. How can you find information on the builders? A Realtor is a great resource, of course. Plus, you can ask actual homeowners who have worked with the builder who you are considering.

Another resource would be county planners; they work with local developers regularly. You may also contact your state or your local licensing or consumer protection agency that tracks builders. Look online to see if there are any complaints filed with Better Business Bureau.
